Golden sand on the corner of Bulevar Evrope

There has been an Italian on this corner for almost a decade. In late 2024 new owners took the house over and reopened it as Sabbiadoro, Nova priča: the same corner, the same neighbourhood, a more serious menu.

Two levels and two tempos. Downstairs in the café you stop by for coffee and breakfast; upstairs in the restaurant dinners run longer than you planned.

The name

The name came from the Adriatic

Sabbiadoro is Italian for golden sand. It is also the name of a resort on the northern Adriatic, Lignano Sabbiadoro, after the beach people go there for. The name stayed from the first decade of the house, the new owners left it alone, and the gold moved into the interior.

Ground floor, café

Coffee, breakfast and a quick lunch, from eight in the morning. A Colosseum mural across the whole wall, daylight, and a table that needs no booking.

Upstairs, restaurant

In the evening you go up. A fireplace, low light, a longer menu, and dinners nobody hurries.

Gnocchi with prosciutto, prawns, kačkavalj and cream. The only dish on the menu carrying the house name, and the one guests mention most often when they write about us. If this is your first time here, start with it.
